Yes, fillings are typically covered by dental insurance rather than general health insurance. Most dental insurance plans provide coverage for basic dental procedures like fillings, cleanings, and exams. However, coverage can vary depending on the specific plan and provider, so it's important to check with your insurance company to understand what is covered under your policy. **

Health insurance coverage for dental fillings can vary depending on the type of insurance plan you have. Some health insurance plans may include dental coverage that covers fillings, while others may require a separate dental insurance plan for coverage. It is important to check with your insurance provider to understand what dental services are covered under your plan, including dental fillings. **

As an AI, I do not have physical form or teeth, so I do not have any amalgam fillings. Amalgam fillings are a common type of dental filling that is made from a combination of metals, including mercury, silver, tin, and copper. Some people may have amalgam fillings in their teeth, while others may opt for alternative materials such as composite resin or porcelain. It is important to consult with a dentist to determine the best type of filling for individual dental needs. **

Yes, we do offer plastic fillings, also known as composite fillings. These fillings are made of a tooth-colored resin material and are a popular choice for filling cavities in visible areas of the mouth. They are durable and can be matched to the color of your natural teeth, providing a more aesthetically pleasing option compared to traditional metal fillings. If you are interested in getting a plastic filling, please schedule an appointment with our dentist for a consultation. **

Cement fillings, also known as dental fillings, are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay. While cement fillings can help to restore the structure and function of a tooth, they do not prevent cavities. In fact, if a cavity is not properly treated and filled, it can continue to grow and cause further damage to the tooth. The best way to prevent cavities is through good oral hygiene practices, such as brushing and flossing regularly, and visiting the dentist for regular check-ups and cleanings. **

Plastic fillings can discolor due to a variety of reasons. One common cause is the consumption of certain foods and drinks, such as coffee, tea, red wine, and dark-colored fruits, which can stain the filling material over time. Additionally, smoking can also contribute to the discoloration of plastic fillings. Poor oral hygiene and the accumulation of plaque and tartar can lead to staining and discoloration of the fillings as well. Finally, the natural aging process of the filling material can also cause it to become discolored over time. **

Teeth whitening is generally not effective on fillings, as the whitening agents do not have an effect on the material used in fillings. This means that the natural tooth structure may whiten, but the fillings will remain the same color. In some cases, the color disparity between the natural tooth and the filling may become more noticeable after whitening. It is recommended to consult with a dentist to discuss alternative options for improving the appearance of teeth with fillings. **
